Welcome Letter from Sade Abraham, Associate Dean and Director, OACES
Welcome back to the spring semester!
As we begin the term, we’re excited about the months ahead and the opportunities they bring for learning, leadership, and community. Here at OACES, the spring semester opens with the conclusion of our Momentum competition, where we celebrate students who dedicated their IAP to engaging deeply with complex challenges in partnership with our 2026 industry partner Blue Origin.
- Throughout the semester, we look forward to a full slate of programming across our portfolio, including CRWN, The Standard, Laureates and Leaders alongside ongoing advising and professional development opportunities. This includes upcoming conversations such as our FLI panel, back by popular demand, on navigating income, impact, and interest in partnership with First Gen MIT Alumni (FAMIT). Together, these initiatives reflect the kind of thoughtful, student-centered programming we aim to provide. With a strengthened organizational structure in place, our teams are well positioned to deliver coordinated, intentional support for students and to deepen engagement with industry and alumni partners.
As we look ahead, we are also preparing to welcome a new cohort of students through our engagement efforts, Campus Preview Weekend, and the summer Interphase program, while continuing to support our current Interphase cohorts. This work is strengthened by partnerships such as IACME and by the leadership of our student leaders through OMESAC, whose insight and engagement remain central to our community.
This work is built together. OACES exists in service of your pursuits, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Warmest regards,
Sade
