The Crown is a cohort-based advising and mentorship program designed to holistically support the academic, personal, and professional development of MIT women from underserved communities. The Crown is open to all students regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, or national origin.

Program Benefits

  • Receive one-on-one mentorship from alumni, current graduate students, or industry partners who understand the MIT experience and can offer guidance as you explore your academic, personal, and professional goals.
  • Build meaningful peer relationships as part of an academic advising community
  • Participate in our Big-Little Program, connecting first-year students with upperclasswomen to foster mentorship, friendship, and community across class years.
  • Receive personalized advising
  • Attend leadership workshops, networking events, wellness programs, and social gatherings designed to help you flourish both inside and outside the classroom.

Who Can Apply?

Eligibility

MIT first-year and sophomore students. The Crown is a cohort based program which admits most students during their first-year with a limited pathway for sophomores seeking an advising community.
