In its mission to provide the best educational, community-building, and networking experiences for all students through the calendar year, the Office of Academic Community, Empowerment, and Success (OACES) offers a wide range of programs and services.

Through a multitude of academic, community, and professional initiatives offered by the OACES, students are empowered to thrive in a supportive setting that fosters both a pursuit of excellence and a strong sense of connection away from the comforts of home.

Our Programs

The CRWN

The mission of The CRWN is to inspire undergraduate students to move confidently as visionaries, grounded in excellence, empathy, and mutual support.

While our programming is designed to support and celebrate undergraduate women, participate is open to all students

Women of Color includes Black, Indigenous, Hispanic/Latinx, Asian, Pacific Islanders, and other minoritized ethnicities. Women includes transgender women, cisgender women, and non-binary individual.

Talented Scholars Resource Room (TSR^2)

The Talented Scholars Resource Room (TSR^2) has provided academic support and resources to MIT undergraduate students in a variety of subjects, with a focus on first year General Institute Requirements (GIR’s).

Master Your Future

Sponsored in conjunction with the OACES’s Industrial Advisory Council for Minority Education (IACME), Master Your Future is a series of professional development events and workshops designed to help students successfully navigate through the corporate world. From internship advice and business etiquette, to resume building and interviewing skills, Master Your Future helps our students prepare for success.

Laureates and Leaders

The Laureates & Leaders program is a graduate school initiative designed to encourage and support students, including those who are first-generation and from lower socio-economic backgrounds, in their quest to achieve a doctoral degree.

Interphase EDGE Empowering Discovery | Gateway to Excellence

Interphase EDGE/x is a comprehensive two-year scholar enrichment program that comprises an intensive eight-week summer program and an academic year component. This multifaceted initiative is designed to provide scholars with a holistic and supportive experience as they embark on their academic journey at MIT

Industrial Advisory Council for Minority Education (IACME)

The IACME mission is to ensure greater retention and higher academic achievement of MIT's underrepresented minority students.
